Welcome to the fire lists page. Apparatus rosters/fleet lists have been collated and archived since 1968. Generally the British fire brigades have been very cooperative in supplying lists over the years. Most of the rosters from the United States now comes via the web as they are placing their fire stations and apparatus on the Internet. These lists are for swapping only on a one for one basis. British terminology is different from American, so please go to the icon below for frequently asked questions about what abbreviations are used universally. To eliminate confusions between Countries a standard is used; for example the British Turntable Ladder is the American Tower Ladder, so AL is always used and TL only for the towers. During the National Fire Service ATV were Auxiliary Towing Vehicles but these days the ATV is an All Terrain Vehicle. To eliminate this, L for light is placed in front of the ATV for the all terrain vehicle. The same is the MRV which used to be Mobile Repair Van. Now used for Multi Role Vehicle, so MW or SV is used for all repair vehicles. ST is used for Damage Control Vehicles as DCU is the Divisional Control Unit in London Fire Brigade of the 1980’s.
